Victoria's Secret Makes New Lingerie Easy

When it comes to being a Victoria’s Secret Angel, there’s no question that the job comes with a lot of perks.

There’s the international travel to exotic locales, working with some of your best friends and piles of free underwear (or at least a deep discount).

But there’s also one major downside: Even if you wake up not feeling quite yourself, you still have to put on those skivvies and get in front of the camera. It may seem unbelievable to us mere mortals, but yes, even Victoria’s Secret Angels — they of the enviably toned, nearly always-naked physiques — feel insecure from time to time. “A lot of times I wake up and I tell my boyfriend, ‘Babe, the last thing I want to do right now is shoot lingerie, I had pizza last night, I’m on my fucking period, I just don’t want to go in front of the camera right now,'” Angel Elsa Hosk confessed at the launch of the brand’s new “Easy” bra in New York on Tuesday.

So what’s a girl to do when a membership at the Dogpound and the best blowouts in the biz aren’t enough? The Angels all take different approaches to getting in the zone. For Hosk, it comes down to being as positive as possible. “Honestly, when you’re exposed in lingerie all the time, you have to find a way to quickly get comfortable with your body,” she says. “I’ve just learned that when I have an imperfect day, it’s not going to help me to stress about it.”

It’s an approach shared by Lily Aldridge, who believes it’s all about finding a way to have fun. Of course, that’s easy enough when your coworkers are also your friends. “It’s so great to be with the other girls — we all support each other and bring each other up, and I think it’s so important to have women around you that make you feel good about yourself,” she says of her winged sisterhood.

And then, of course, there’s finding the best underwear for making you feel sexy (get ready for the product plug!). According to Angel Stella Maxwell, it’s all about fit. “No matter if you have bigger boobs, smaller boobs… Victoria’s Secret has a bra for every size, every shape, and that’s the essential part about this collection, too — it works for every different kind of body,” she says. “Since I’ve been working with Victoria’s Secret, I just figured out which ones I love and which ones fit my cup the best.”

Still, there’s no getting around the fact that these ladies are seriously fit and surrounded by a glam squad at every official event (truly, it takes a village). Maxwell also credits clean eating, lots of water and sleep, and a regular workout routine for her own sense of sexiness. But for these ladies, none of that comes down to a specific size or shape — just the right attitude. “If you just let it go and try to get in a positive frame of mind, like, maybe I’m not perfect today, so what? I’m going to rock it, because then people are going to say wow, she’s amazing, she has confidence, and that’s really all that people care about,” says Hosk. “They don’t care what your body is like, they care what you put out there.”
